From policy to reality: Promising practices for inclusive living
Interpretation between English and Romanian and real time captioning will be made available during this webinar
Article 19 of the UN CRPD establishes the equal right of all persons with disabilities to live in the community, with choices equal to others. Nevertheless, independent living is only possible when the necessary support services and systems are made available, as well as when staff is adequately trained to support individuals through empowering and human rights-oriented approaches.
As countries across Europe work towards the full implementation of the UN CRPD, it is more important than ever to identify and share innovative policy frameworks and practices which empower persons with disabilities to live in their community and participate as they wish.
Co-hosted by the European Association of Service providers for Persons with Disabilities (EASPD) and the Alliance of Organisations working with the disabled people from Moldova (AOPD), this webinar will showcase a number of promising practices which promote the inclusive living of persons with disabilities in their communities as well as the national policy frameworks in which they were developed.
