EASPD week-long training course on Inclusive Education in Salzburg
The 9th edition of the 'Building an Inclusive School for All' Training will be held in Salzburg, Austria. Hosted by the European Association of Service Providers for People with Disabilities (EASPD), the training course aims to develop the understanding and expertise of teachers, trainers, headmasters and school staff on inclusive education for persons with disabilities. The course provides a certificate delivered by a European organisation.
The week-long course will take place between 21st-26th April 2024 at the University of Education Salzburg, Salzburg, Austria.
What is the course about?
The course offers a framework for the further development and promotion of inclusive education, as well as a hands-on experience in the planning of such an approach.
The courses programme will cover:
- The UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities
- The Index for inclusion
- Universal Design for Learning
- Co-teaching
- A visit to an inclusive primary school
- A visit to the award-winning inclusive BLuE programme at the University of Salzburg
- Strategic planning and change management
- Opportunities for school assistance to support inclusion
How will the course be conducted?
Information and discovery sessions will alternate with discussion groups, peer group support and reflection sessions. The methods used will offer in the first place an individual learning pathway, supported by a reflection and learning portfolio. The course will be conducted in English.
Who can benefit from the course?
The course provides a safe learning environment for school headteachers, middle management, teachers and teaching assistants, educational guides and counsellors, inspectors and administrative staff willing to challenge their mind and to engage in a 5-day course to learn and discover with and from colleagues in an international setting how to move towards inclusive education. It also addresses external support people, including coordination staff of education and social support services.
Who are the course trainers?
The course is coordinated by the Member Forum on Education of EASPD and organised by a consortium of European organisations and universities involved in the development of inclusive education across Europe. The tutors will include Annemie Jennes (VSKO, Belgium), Marleen Clissen (VSKO, Belgium), Wolfgang Plaute (Pädagogische Hochschule Salzburg, Austria) and João Canossa Dias’s (ARCIL, Portugal).

Participation fee:
€100 fee for low GDP countries*
€350 for high GDP countries*
This fee includes the training, lunches, coffee breaks and one dinner.
