Ljubljana expert workshop on personal and household services
On 29 January, the PERHOUSE project will host a workshop on the working conditions and social dialogue in personal and household services (PHS) in the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana, Kardeljeva ploščad 5, 1000 Ljubljana (FDV-19, 1st floor).
Context
In the PERHOUSE project, studying working conditions and social dialogue in the field of personal and household services (PHS) in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe is a top priority. With this, the project partners defined OGS as a wide range of services performed in and for households, especially childcare and assistance to the elderly and disabled, cleaning, minor repairs and other household work. One of the main aims of PERHOUSE is to deepen the analysis of relations between employers and employees and the potential of social dialogue in PHS in Eastern European, and to investigate the connection with the structures of social dialogue at the EU level. Here, the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Ljubljana (UL) prepared a national report based on interviews with relevant stakeholders in the field of PHS at the EU level, a survey among users and group interviews with workers about their work experience.
Event overview
At the workshop, UL will present the preliminary results of the PERHOUSE project and invite participants to discuss the situation and possibilities for improvements in the field of working conditions and social dialogue in PHS. These discussions will be invaluable to the faculty's continued research, and will allow them to better understand and interpret the results obtained from their fieldwork.
