What to expect from EASPD in February 2024

We're starting off the new year with a full agenda in February!

As we say goodbye to 2023, we also welcome in a new year. In 2024 EASPD aims to build on its work to promote the delivery of quality support to persons with disabilities and increased social inclusion. With no time to waste, we have a full event agenda in February!

On 20 and 22 February we’re hosting 4 events on differing topics including health and safety in the workplace, the use of virtual reality in Vocational Education and Training, responsive services to address gender-based violence against women with disabilities and building skills through therapy animals.

Responsive services to address gender-based violence against women with disabilities

20th February, 9:00-13:00

The RESPONSE event will bring together the different relevant actors to increase stakeholders’ knowledge and capacity about rights-based and gender-responsive services in addressing gender-based violence against women with disabilities.

Promoting Inclusive Training on Safety & Health at Work for Workers with Disabilities

20th February, 13:30-17:30

The Safe4All 'Safety 4 Disability: Inclusive Training on Safety & Health at Work for Workers with Disabilities' event will provide practical training to service providers and employers to establish inclusive and secure work environments via inclusive health and safety training to employees with disabilities.

Upscaling Vocational Pathways through Virtual Reality

22nd February, 10:00-13:00

The VIRTUS event will explore how professionals can develop educational vocational training programme tailored to the needs of autistic individuals by integrating in vivo training seminars and virtual reality technology.

Building Skills Through Training Therapy Animals

22nd February, 13:00-14:00

The BUSTA project is hosting a screening of its documentary and networking lunch on 22nd February.

BUSTA (Building Skills Through Training Therapy Animals) is a project which aims to foster transversal skills in schools, promoting a more transdisciplinary, learner-centred, and challenge-based approach. Through the BUSTA project, students gain the chance to make a tangible impact beyond school boundaries, particularly on the lives of persons with disabilities. The project involves students in research and cooperative actions focused on integrating service animal training.
