Safe4All Partners meet in Norway!

In the beautiful city of Aurland, project partners discussed the way forward to achieve the goals of the project on employment of persons with disabilities.

On 25th and 26th September, the Safe4All project partners met in Aurland, Norway for the third Transnational Project Meeting.

The main items discussed were the piloting activities conducted by different partners to test the first two Project Results:

  1. A Handbook for the Inclusive Vocational Training on Safety & Health in workplace for workers with disabilities. This document is born out of the need to develop more inclusive training regulations for health and safety at work, which better meet the needs of persons with disabilities. It is guided by an individual-centric approach given that the existing EU OSHA guidelines on this topic are very generic and standardised.
  2. A Toolkit of Training for Trainers for Safety & Health in the workplace of PWDs. This training course aims to upskill and re-skill 2 kind of trainers: experts in safety at work and experts in training of PWDs. It is guided by the ‘metacognitive approach’, combining elements of “What to Teach” – the concepts of safety and health at work – with content on “How to Teach” – the process of learning.

With the feedback recieved from the particiapnts, the project partners will improve the two outputs, so they are more coherent and comprehensive. These results will soon be available on the project website and disseminated through National Multiplier Events in January-February 2024.

The next step is to start working on the third and final project result: Policy Recommendations. These will be address EU and national policymakers with the aim to propose a more inclusive legal framework which takes into account the safety at work for people with disabilities. EASPD is leading this output through a co-creation approach which will also involve experts’ input, and are to be released in early 2024.
