QoLAB project partners finally met in Budapest!
On 6 and 7 March, the QoLAB partners met in Budapest for their first Transnational Project Meeting.
During the two-day meeting in Budapest, the project partners had the opportunity to get to know each other and plan their activities for the first months of the project. A big part of the discussion focused on the creation of one of the first project's key outputs: the Quality of Life Supports Model (QoLSM) Implementation Toolkit. The Toolkit will include training and capacity building resources tailored to the different project’s target groups and will support them in understanding and implementing the QoLSM framework effectively.
About QoLAB
QoLAB is an EU-funded project that aims to inform and guide support services on how to better assess and improve quality using the Quality of Life Support Model (QoLSM), in line with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD).
Nowadays, support services are facing a transformation towards more user-centred and human rights-based practices. Instead of ensuring that only basic safety and health standards are met, the aim is to focus on the impact that these services have on the individuals' quality of life. However, current inspection systems often fall short in assessing this aspect.
That is where the QoLAB project comes in! By creating and piloting tools on the QoLSM, QoLAB will help service providers improve people's overall quality of life. At the same time, the project will empower people with disabilities to have an active role in decisions that affect the services they use and – consequently - their lives.
