''Inclusive gigs are not just a trend; they are the future''

Rita Csányi from the Hungarian band ''The Anahit'' shares her experience of playing at top festivals this summer with the Revelland project.

EASPD is part of the Revelland project which aims to produce multisensory performances at 6 European festivals.

After over a year of development and preparation, the Revelland bands presented their dynamic live shows at 4 European summer Festivals this year. Rita Csányi, lead singer of the Hungarian band ''The Anahit'' shares her experience of playing at top festivals this summer below!

''This year, we had the incredible opportunity to take our immersive and inclusive live shows to some of Europe’s most renowned festivals, including Colours of Ostrava, Sziget, and Cooltural Fest. What we found was not just acceptance, but a genuine celebration of innovation and inclusivity that far surpassed our expectations.

From the moment we began our tour, we were struck by the openness of festival organisers and their enthusiasm for new, boundary-pushing experiences.

Our multi-sensory performances, which include scents, tastes and visuals were met with curiosity and excitement.

Collaborating with sign language interpreters added another layer of inclusivity, and we were thrilled to see how well these performances were received by the diverse crowds at each event.

The response from festival attendees was overwhelmingly positive. It was clear that the audience was captivated by the novelty of our approach and deeply engaged by the sensory experience. As performers, we could feel an incredible connection forming between us and the crowd—a connection that was far beyond what we had imagined. The feedback we received was filled with enthusiasm and appreciation for the unique, immersive experience, with many attendees expressing how much they felt a part of the performance.

These experiences have reinforced our belief that inclusive and immersive performances have the power to create profound connections between artists and audiences.

Inclusive gigs are not just a trend; they are the future. By embracing diverse forms of expression and ensuring that everyone has the chance to fully experience the magic of live music, we can create spaces where true connection and understanding flourish. The power of music lies in its ability to unite, to move, and to transcend the ordinary. It’s time for the industry to embrace this potential more fully and continue to create opportunities for inclusive and immersive experiences that touch the heart and soul of every attendee."
