The Member Forum on Early Childhood Intervention focused on Family Mediated Intervention, through a methodology designed to work with families.

The Member Forum on Early Childhood Intervention focused on Family Mediated Intervention – a methodology to work with families, a matter much discussed within the working group. This methodology was already being used by one of the Member Forum's Bulgarian members, Karin Dom. This latter organisation then offered to deliver three online trainings to the Member Forum on Early Childhood Intervention as well as other thematic working groups, to introduce and further explore Family Mediated Intervention. The three trainings included the following: introduction of Family Mediated Intervention and its values and objectives; Exploration of the functioning of Family Mediated Intervention in practice; Workshop to create the step-by-step approach to test this methodology in members’ organisations.

The Member Forum on Early Childhood Intervention also collaborated to develop a position paper, “Family-centred Early Childhood Intervention: The best start in life.”. This paper aims at raising awareness about Family-centred Early Childhood Intervention and why it is needed. It also raises key challenges and formulates recommendations for the European Union and its Member States to establish quality Early Childhood Intervention systems.
