EASPD named a Zero Project 2024 Award winner!

EASPD was chosen as one of the 77 winners of the Zero Project 2024 Awards on innovative inclusive practices.

Opening a call for application every year to recognise innovative practices that remove barriers for persons with disabilities in the fields of Inclusive Education, and ICT, the Zero Project 2024 Award winners were announced today. EASPD won this award for the project, Emergency Early Childhood Development Support for Ukrainian Refugees (ECDUR).

Partnering up with UNICEF, the ECDUR project was started in July 2023, in response to the situation of Ukrainian refugees with disabilities. During the lifetime of the project, disability organisations from neighboring countries of Romania, Poland, Bulgaria, Moldova and Slovakia provided instant emergency response to Ukrainian refugees with disabilities in need.

EASPD is extremely excited to extend congratulations to our members, CECD Mintra and Fundación ONCE for winning a Zero Project 2024 award.

CECD Mintra from Portugal won the award for the National System for Early Childhood Intervention (SNIPI). The organisation was in charge of coordinating early childhood intervention support from 3 ministries in Portugal.

Fundación ONCE from Spain won the award for "Por Talento Digital", a programme that helps improve the employment of persons with disabilities in the digital sector.

Following the announcement of the Awardees of 2024, the Zero Project will present and promote these during the invitation-only Zero Project Conference 2024 – #ZeroCon24 – at the United Nations Office at Vienna.

To celebrate its Awardees of 2024 leading up to #ZeroCon24, the Zero Project will showcase thematic groupings of Awardees on all social media platforms, sharing these impactful solutions globally. Ultimately, the Awardees 2024 will join the free online database of innovative solutions hosted by the Zero Project.
