Architecture and Autism, crisis management, and supported decision making

The Member Forum on Inclusive Living organised a study visit to share knowledge and experiences around the topics of: architecture and autism, crisis management with persons with autism spectrum disorders, supported decision making and team building.

The Member Forum on Inclusive Living organised a study visit for participants from Greece (EGNYA), Moldova (Keystone Moldova) and Malta (Agenzija Sapport), hosted by a Spanish member, SUPPORT Girona. The aim of the study visit was to connect participants from different organisations from the disability sector and share knowledge and experiences around the topics of: architecture and autism, crisis management with persons with autism spectrum disorders, supported decision making and team building.

SUPPORT Girona gave a tour of their organisation and shared their knowledge about supported decision making and global support. Following up on that, social workers from SUPPORT Girona gave a presentation about Ethical Thinking Space (ERESS) and discussed how to build bridges of empathy. Berta Brusilovsky, an architect from Madrid, provided a training on how to design safe and inclusive spaces for persons with autism spectrum disorders, exploring key design approaches and recommendations.
