How accessible are online care services?

ACCESSIBILITECH project partners give you a chance to know more about accessible telecare.

Telecare became a part of our lives swiftly with the coming of the pandemic. But how accessible and inclusive are these services?

As part of the ACCESSIBILITECH project, EASPD is organising a webinar on  25th May, 'Telecare: Accessible online care services for all', at 10:00-11:30 CEST to discuss the barriers faced by persons with disabilities while using online care services and the potential innovative solutions to improve the accessibility and quality of telecare.

Online care services or Telecare involves the delivery of health and social care to individuals within the home or wider community outside formal institutional settings, with the support of systems enabled by information and communication technologies (ICT).

The disruption of everyday life resulting from the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic prompted the need to accelerate the digital transition and adapt care services to maintain provision and care for users where possible, but also exposed the digital divide and accessibility issues faced by the most vulnerable groups.
