Use of Artificial Intelligence in social care for persons with disabilities

EASPD and the Policy Impact Lab have conducted research to explore AI’s role in social care, highlighting challenges and opportunities.

Commissioned by the European Association of Service Providers for Persons with Disabilities (EASPD) and conducted by the Policy Impact Lab between September and December 2024, this study examines the current state and challenges of integrating artificial intelligence (AI) tools into social care and support services for individuals with disabilities.

It explores both the obstacles and opportunities for AI adoption, identifies exemplary AI practices in the sector, and offers recommendations for the efficient and ethical implementation of AI in social care services.
