EASPD’s contribution to the call for evidence on fighting housing exclusion focuses on the housing needs for persons with disabilities, the recognition of persons with disabilities as a group at higher risk of housing exclusion, and the role of disability services in fighting for better housing opportunities for all. This paper highlights evidence of key barriers such as institutional culture, limited accessible housing stock, weak coordination between the housing and the disability sector, and fragmented funding. To overcome these barriers, the Council recommendation on fighting housing exclusion should include concrete recommendations regarding housing for persons with disabilities.
