DIVERSITY-LIVED

Project summary
How can professionals truly understand the barriers faced by people with disabilities if they have never experienced them themselves?
DIVERSITY-LIVED responds to this challenge by developing an immersive training for health and social care professionals that will enable them to experience some of the daily challenges faced by people with disabilities.
By improving the empathetic understanding and practical competences of care professionals, the project will enhance the quality and inclusiveness of care.
The project will develop an innovative training methodology using disability simulators. This approach will empower educators to adopt innovative educational strategies, create supportive learning environments, reinforce inclusive values and improve accessibility in adult education. By directly experiencing mobility, vision and hearing barriers, professionals will gain first-hand insight into the obstacles people with disabilities encounter in their everyday lives. This will ultimately drivemeaningful improvements in care and support for people with disabilities.
