RightToConnect partners meet in Madrid to discuss the importance of digital skills in achieving social inclusion
RightToConnect project partners have gathered in Madrid to attend a 2-days workshop on 5th and 6th June 2023. Around 20 participants among people with Intellectual Disabilities (PwID) and their educators joined from Italy, Austria, Greece, Spain, and Ireland to give their feedback and suggestions on the project’s e-learning platform. In these 2 days, they explored different features and tested the accessibility functionalities of the multimedia courses in the platform.
What is RightToConnect?
Digital technologies are nowadays essential to make our lives easier and to be active citizens. Nonetheless, persons with disabilities can often be left behind if not provided with tools considering their needs and requirements. RightToConnectNow (RTCN) aims to create an e-learning platform to achieve the goal of improving social inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities through:
- The removal of barriers to learning and skills development related with digital accessibility;
- The development of knowledge and understanding of how-to best support PwID in becoming active citizens through digital communication;
- Opportunities provided to PwID to self-advocate and express themselves on wider societal challenges.
