Looking for something to do during the holidays? Beyond Digits has launched a new 3D game designed to help neurodivergent adults develop financial literacy skills. Through interactive gameplay, participants can learn essential money-management skills in an engaging and effective way, and research shows that this approach can improve learning outcomes. By building financial confidence and independence, the game also aims to help reduce the risk of poverty among neurodivergent people.

What is the Beyond Digits 3D Game?

It is a Windows-based game that allows players to practice day-to-day financial decisions in a safe, encouraging environment.

The game is built around three core experiences:

1. Minigames to put money skills to the test through three focused challenges: counting coins and bills on screen, paying the exact right amount for a product using drag-and-drop currency, and calculating the correct change after a purchase. A built-in calculator is always on hand, and friendly feedback guides you whether you pay too much, too little, or just right.
2. Monthly Income Management providing a fixed monthly budget and a calendar of activities to manage. Some expenses are obligatory (like paying the electricity bill) while others, like food delivery or groceries, are your choice. At the end of each month, a spending report helps you reflect on your decisions, and a fresh income arrives at the start of the next one.
3. Badges rewarding progress throughout the game, giving both something to work toward and to celebrate.
