Fresh tools to support an inclusive environment at school with ACT-INCLUSIVE

From interactive activities to practical checklists, the ACT-INCLUSIVE project has released new tools to help inclusion thrive in mainstream schools. Whether you’re a teacher, school staff member, parent, or simply someone who cares about creating welcoming classrooms for children with and without disabilities, these tools are designed to help you turn ideas about inclusion into everyday practice.
“Training & Awareness-raising (TAR) manual” – your step-by-step guide to understanding and practising inclusion
The TAR Manual is designed as a roadmap to inclusive education. Addressing key concepts and classifications of disability, strategies for accessible and inclusive education, as well as practical tools for creating welcoming school environments, the manual serves as an essential resource for anyone wanting to learn about and support inclusion in their school. Designed for ease of use, the manual offers concise topic overviews along with useful resources and links for further learning.
Teachers can use the manual as a quick reference when preparing lessons, staff training, or parent meetings. School management can use it to support the ongoing professional development of their staff. Students, too, can benefit from learning about their rights and the importance of accessible learning spaces.

“Toolbox with non-formal activities promoting inclusiveness” – interactive, practical and ready to use
The Toolbox is a hands-on, user-friendly kit that allows you to start applying inclusive exercises and practices within your school right away. The Toolbox brings together resources from across Europe, tested by experts in disability and inclusive education.
To promote inclusion throughout the school community, the toolbox is divided into five themes: inclusive education, accessibility, inclusive culture, awareness-raising, and inclusive games. Each resource includes a short description of its objectives, guidance on how to use it, the target audience, its level of complexity (so you can see how easy it is to implement) and a list of required materials.
From checklists that help you make lesson materials easier to read, to self-reflection tools for creating welcoming classrooms, to inclusive games and cultural activities – the Toolbox has something for you. We encourage you to download the Toolbox and fully explore its interactive features.

“My monsters” comic book & audiobook – fun learning for teens
Previously released, “My Monsters” is a comic and audiobook for teenagers that helps them learn about inclusive communication. The resources are designed to open up conversations about understanding, empathy, and making sure everyone feels heard and welcome – whether it’s in school or any other setting.
Read (or listen to) the Comic Book in partner languages here.
Why do these resources matter?
Inclusive education is not only about policies, but also about small, everyday actions that make students feel valued, safe, and able to learn. These tools give teachers and students practical ways to:
- Break down barriers in the classroom,
- Adapt activities so everyone can participate,
- Raise awareness and empathy,
- Celebrate diversity through culture and play.
By using them, we can help build schools and communities where every student belongs.
