WELL CARE project releases its third newsletter

WELL CARE publishes its third newsletter, highlighting progress in mental wellbeing in long-term care.

The WELL CARE project continues to make important progress in strengthening the resilience and mental wellbeing of long-term care (LTC) workers and informal carers across Europe.

As the project reached the end of 2025, partners marked a key milestone with the publication of a report highlighting 40 good practices across five European countries. This work provides valuable insights into “what works” in supporting those who play a crucial role in delivering care to older people and people with disabilities.

What is the WELL CARE project about?

The WELL CARE project focuses on improving the mental health and resilience of both professional care workers and informal carers. These groups are essential to Europe’s care systems but often face high levels of stress, workload and socio-economic challenges.

To address this, the project identifies and analyses effective practices that help prevent or mitigate risks linked to both working conditions and personal circumstances.

Strengthening collaboration across Europe

The project is now entering its second phase (2026–2027), with a shift in focus from analysis to implementation.

In this context, the WELL CARE partnership continues to engage stakeholders through key events and knowledge-sharing activities. Recent highlights include the first European Blended Learning Network session in Brussels and the project’s General Assembly in Copenhagen, where partners reviewed progress and refined priorities for the coming years.

Ultimately, the project underlines the importance of investing in the wellbeing of those who provide care (both professionally and informally) as a cornerstone of inclusive and resilient social services across Europe.
