Understanding disability through lived experience

On 22 May, DIVERSITY-LIVED partners were hosted by the University of Burgos for the first in-person meeting since the launch of the project.
During the meeting, partners established clear guidelines to implement the project and presented the state of play of the first activity, the Literature Review that will guide the development of the Educational Methodology Manual.
Additionally, the discussions focused on the involvement of people with disabilities throughout the development of the project materials, including the review of accessibility aspects and the design of the Learning Situations. Co-production is an important aspect of the project, and partners are committed to develop high-quality outputs with the support of people with disabilities.
DIVERSITY-LIVED is a two years project, co-funded by Erasmus+ program, and aims to improve the quality of care provided to people with disabilities through immersive training for health and social care professionals. By experiencing simulations of some of the daily challenges faced by persons with disabilities, professionals will be better equipped to deliver more inclusive, empathetic, and person-centred support.
The consortium is led by a coordinator, Universidad de Burgos (Spain), and Università degli Studi Roma Tre (Italy); European Association of Service providers for Persons with Disabilities (Belgium); Slovensko združenje za pomoč pri demenci Spominčica (Slovenia); INFAD (Spain).
The consortium is very excited to continue implementing the project! Follow along to be updated on the latest news:
