Inclusive sports activities create opportunities for everyone, regardless of ability, to participate, thrive, and connect through the power of sport. However, the visibility of inclusive sports and diversifying the stories portrayed in sports journalism remains a key challenge. The SIMS project addresses this gap by fostering collaboration between media professionals and organisations promoting inclusive sports, in line with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD). This event highlights the importance of inclusive sports journalism in amplifying stories of diversity and equal opportunities.

Join us for an evening featuring an Inclusive Rugby Training Session and a Panel Discussion with experts and journalists sharing insights on promoting inclusive sports.

This event will:

  • Identify how organisations that promote and develop inclusive sport activities and events can work with journalists to increase the visibility of their activities;
  • Share the resources of the SIMS project;
  • Provide networking opportunities for organisations active in sport and leisure.
