The third newsletter of the INSPIRE project highlights progress across Europe in advancing social inclusion, digital innovation, and sustainable development in rural and peripheral communities.

INSPIRE aims to support the sustainable and inclusive development of European rural areas by promoting social well-being and inclusion of rural dwellers and groups in a vulnerable situation and enhancing governance frameworks. 

So, what is new with the project?

• Pilot partners held their warm-up events and workshop between November 2025 and early 2026. They introduced the Smart Village Lab concept across Europe through local engagements, co-creation, and capacity-building.
• The group of expert (network of interest) continues to growth. We are now counting 41 members, connecting civil society, academia, and social enterprises. The network if open for new members, and you can join.
• The project developed of new relevant tools:
  • Rural typology on social exclusion: Identifies territorial challenges.
  • Services & social economy atlas: Searchable platform for social inclusion initiatives.
  • Coming soon: Policy recommendations for inclusive rural communities.
