EASPD's insights on the European Child Guarantee

We are thrilled to announce that the last factsheets on the implementation of the European Child Guarantee by EU Member States are out. Published by regional area, this series presents key information and measures from EU Member States targeting children with disabilities, children with mental health issues, and those in institutional-based alternative care.
Today’s release focuses on Southern countries: Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Malta, Portugal, and Spain.
Each factsheet provides the following information:
Key data and figures on these children;
An overview of the main challenges they face;
A summary of the objectives and key targets set up;
The list of measures and specific actions ongoing, planned, or adopted to improve the situation of these children.
By exploring these resources, you will gain insights into the challenges and barriers faced in various countries, but you will also discover positive commitments and actions undertaken by national authorities. These include Italy’s model for inclusive education, Cyprus’s recent reforms to promote inclusive education, and the efforts of Malta, Greece, and Portugal to strengthen early childhood intervention services. You will also learn about Spain’s initiatives aimed at increasing community-based support and advancing deinstitutionalisation.
