EASPD Communications Network webinar: Building accessible online spaces

Accessibility fosters equality, as it allows all people to participate in the digital world. For this reason, it is crucial to ensure that everyone, regardless of ability, can access websites and navigate documents effectively. By designing inclusive digital spacess, businesses and organisations can reach a wider audience, improve user experience, and comply with legal standards, particularly with the European Accessibility Act.
On Monday 28 April, 10:00 – 12:00 CEST, the EASPD Communications Network and Hilfsgemeinschaft - Austrian Association in support of the blind and visually impaired will host a webinar to further explore this topic.
This webinar will be led by Werner Rosenberger, web accessibility expert, and will explore several relevant aspects:
- Standards and policy landscape of web accessibility in the EU
- Needs of people with disabilities
- How to recognise an accessible website, and related best practices
- What should a website editor consider?
- Creating accessible Microsoft Word documents and checking for accessibility with the Word Checking Tool
- Checking PDFs for Accessibility with the PAC Tool
