Creating inclusive local communities: ICALL Partners meet in Athens
The ICALL partners recently travelled to Athens to catch up on the current activities and plan for the coming year, in order to achieve some of the project’s key milestones. ICALL aims to develop the tools needed to establish and sustain inclusive local communities, where persons with disabilities can live a full social life and access all services offered to the public. This includes raising awareness and building the capacity of key stakeholders, such as local authorities.
During the meeting in Athens, the partners:
- Finalised and shared the main findings of their Transnational Needs Assessment Report, understanding the situation of inclusive communities in Finland, Greece, Hungary and Poland.
- Selected 10 out of the 26 submitted best practices to be added to the Best Practices Booklet. The consortium’s selection was based on three criteria, namely innovation, impact and transferability, and the booklet is expected to be published in April 2025.
- Launched the co-creation process in developing the Training Module. The Training will be targeted towards disability service providers, local authorities and families of person with disabilities, aiming to upskill them in advocacy, fund raising, networking, and more.
