We promote human rights and equal opportunities for people with disabilities through effective and high-quality support.

Key areas of work
We must take concrete steps to transform services into person-centered models that empower individuals, while positioning service providers as key drivers of this shift toward a human rights-based approach.

Why words matter: inclusive language for educators

A first step to inclusion is how we talk about it. Words hold a lot of power to shape your message and influence how people connect to what you say. Inclusive communication recognises that people come from different backgrounds and experiences. It encourages us to communicate in a way that is respectful, accurate and free from stigma without assuming anyone’s past or current situation.
During this year’s ALL DIGITAL Weeks, we are hosting a webinar, “Why words matter: inclusive language for educators” on 23 March from 11:00 – 12:00 CET.
The webinar will:
- Help participants to understand why inclusive communication is important.
- Address how you can approach this while talking about disability and gender.
- Present the ADEDU project’s guide on inclusive communication to promote the inclusive education for adult learners. These guidelines will also be presented during the webinar.
