EASPD Knowledge Café: Building Inclusive Classrooms in Primary and Secondary Education

Join our upcoming Knowledge Café and be part of the conversation to foster effective inclusion in mainstream classrooms.

Register

Inclusive education is a fundamental human right, enshrined in the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 4 – Quality Education). However, despite global efforts, many children with disabilities remain excluded from mainstream educational settings or experience marginalisation within schools that are ill-equipped to support their diverse learning needs.

Service providers, educators, school administrators, policymakers, and communities need a deeper understanding of inclusive pedagogies, support systems, and the importance of fostering an inclusive culture in schools. This Knowledge Café aims to present, discuss and share knowledge, practices, and engage stakeholders in meaningful dialogue to promote systemic change to foster inclusive education.

Objectives:

  • To share best practices, strategies, and resources for effective inclusion in mainstream classrooms.
  • To discuss policy frameworks, challenges, and opportunities for inclusive education at local, national, and international levels.
  • To facilitate dialogue among service providers, educators, disability advocates, parents, and policymakers to promote collaborative approaches.
