International Seminar on Policies for People with Disabilities "Europe 2020" in Bulgaria

The Sofia Municipality hosted an international workshop on social policies for people with disabilities. Under the title “Europe 2020 – smart, sustainable and inclusive growth”, the event gathered together practitioners and social service providers from Bulgaria. Participants exchanged their points of views and experiences on how the European growth strategy can be effectively implemented, promoting a more integrated society.

NASO and Plovdiv Municipality organised a forum on how to establish partnerships to increase the quality of social services

On the 25th of April the National Alliance for Social Responsibility (NASO) organized, in cooperation with the Bulgarian Municipality of Plovdiv, a regional forum that gathered together the local service providers from this Bulgarian region. The forum focused on "Partnership for better social services” and counted on the special participation of Mr. Luk Zelderloo, Secretary General of EASPD.

The Declaration on Planning Inclusive Communities is ready!

This Declaration is the result of the EASPD's annual conference celebrated in Siegen (Germany) The Declaration provides recommendations and guidelines from local stakeholders and partners on the correct implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UN CRPD) to decision-makers at European, national and local levels.

EASPD represents the European service providers' sector for persons with disabilities at the United Nations in New York

Since its accreditation last year, the European Association of Service providers for Persons with Disabilities (EASPD) has the chance, for the first time, to take part into the debates and present its expertise in social service provision in the 7th Session of the Conference of States Parties to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UN CRPD) in New York.

European Ombudsman opens investigation on the protection of fundamental rights
