Lovelife Project Update

On 20th and 21st of September 2018, the Lovelife consortium held its fifth project meeting in Dunkirk, France.

The Lovelife Project focuses on supporting people with a learning disability with sex and relationship issues.

There was an evaluation of the co-trainer’s programme, the training of people with a mental disability to become experts, and an assessment of the value of these training sessions.

The European Commission needs you to fill in its survey on Web Accessibility

Web accessibility aims at enabling all users to have equal access to information and functionalities on the web. More specifically, Web accessibility means that people with all abilities and disabilities can perceive, understand, navigate, and interact with the Web.

The European Commission is conducting a survey on web accessibility of websites and apps of public sector bodies. It is important to complete it as it will help to further understand the user perspective and will be instrumental in the application of the Web Accessibility Directive.

EASPD joins forces to oppose draft additional protocol to the Oviedo Convention

EASPD together with 8 other organisations of persons with disabilities, are calling for the immediate withdrawal of the draft additional protocol to the Oviedo Convention.   Since 2014, under the mandate received from member states of the Council of Europe, the DH-BIO Committee of the Council of Europe has been working on a draft additional protocol to the Convention concerning the protection of human rights and dignity of “persons with mental disorders”.

Members Voice: Segregation of students with disabilities in Spain, IIIS a European experience of inclusion

The segregation of students has been a challenge that all European countries have had to face since the birth of public education policies.

Every nation looks to improve and develop education systems and with the help of awareness raising and social advances these systems can contribute to the effective inclusion of all members of society. But, as it is common in our European idiosyncrasy, not all countries have adopted the same measures or, at least, not with the same speed.
