ERASMUS+ what is it about?

Erasmus+ is the new EU programme for education, training, youth and sport that will replace the Lifelong Learning Programme (Leonardo, Comenius, Grundtvig, Erasmus and Jean Monnet actions), Youth in Action and five other international programmes starting from 2014.

Application for NGO Accreditiation to the Conference of State Parties Approved

We have received fantastic news from the UN that they have approved our application for NGO accreditation to the Conference of States Parties to the CRPD. This will allow us to participate in the Conferences.

 

According to Article 40 of the Convention “The States Parties shall meet regularly in a Conference of States Parties in order to consider any matter with regard to the implementation of the present Convention.”  EASPD will now be able to join these discussions.

Take Part in the European Song Festival

In association with the city of Upplands Väsby, EASPD is organising the European Song Festival, a three day international Music Festival for persons with intellectual disabilities. 

The Festival will take place in May 2014.

Congrats to our award winning member Open the Windows

CONGRATULATIONS

EASPD wishes to congratulate our Macedonian member "Open the Windows" for winning a prestigious award by the ERSTE Foundation for the Award for Social Integration. Open the Windows works on a e-Accessible Education project that supports the educational opportunities of students with disabilities. The project is funded by USAID and has been active for three years.

Welcome Croatia!

Croatia became the 28th Member State of the European Union on the 1st July. Following its international recognition on 15 January 1992, Croatia began to develop its relationship with the European Union. An important first step was the signing of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA) in October 2011, which came into force on 1st February 2005.

The EP political groups joined forces to support the rights of persons with disabilities

On Wednesday 5th June the leaders of the main political groups of the European Parliament (EPP group, S&D group, ALDE group, Greens/EFA group and GUE/NGL group) joined forces to support the rights of persons with disabilities in Europe. In preparation of this event, EASPD participated in a meeting with the European United Left and the Nordic Green Left. The meeting tackled the inclusion of persons with disabilities in the European policy-making process and the impact of the crisis on the situation of persons with disabilities.

EASPD response to the consultation on a draft General Block Exemption Regulation (the GBER) on state aid measures

Article 107 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU) defines what State Aid is and when it is compatible with the internal market. According to Article 108 the Council may determine additional categories of aid that are compatible with internal market or allow the Commission to do so through regulations.
