Since the year 2000, the SOLIDAR Silver Rose Awards have been an annually returning ceremony dedicated to recognising individuals and organisations whose extraordinary struggles contribute to social justice and solidarity in Europe and worldwide.
This year, the event will take place on 23 January 2018, 19:00 - 23:00.
The draft programme and more details can be found here.
This event and gathering is a particular occasion to express the values that we believe in and strive for, of solidarity, social justice, human rights, media freedom, gender equity, universal education and dignity for all. If these values are also prerequisite to global progress and rank high on the EU’s political agenda and commitments, they have also been particularly challenged and increasingly so. In a context of increasing human rights violations, rising inequalities and shrinking civic space at global but also at the EU’s level, it is more than ever fundamental to take a stand and defend core values that ensure peoples’ well-being and peace.
The Silver Rose Award is a festive event that showcases and rewards concrete actions of individuals and organisations who have been making a difference, advancing social progress, education and international cooperation.
