Grants for members: join the training on Self-directed Support for frontline staff!

In Control Scotland, one of the five partners involved in the EU-funded SKILLS project, will be organising and hosting a joint training and learning event from the 3rd-5th July in Glasgow, UK. As a partner in the project, EASPD is able to invite up to two individuals from our membership to take part in this pilot training. The training is free of charge and EASPD can cover up to 275€ in travel expenses and 500€ in subsistence costs.
 
The event will take place over three full days and will be an opportunity for transnational sharing and learning and to consider the changes that are required both in practice and in organisations.
 

The training and learning event will include:

  •  Workshops and presentations from a diverse and interesting range of contributors about the experience of implementing self-directed support, including the personal experience of individuals and families
  • Visits to organisations and groups who have been working to take forward self-directed support and personal budgets
  • Trying out and using different resources and tools, including the first drafts of those developed as part of the SKILLS project

Only active EASPD members will be considered and only one frontline staff member per organisation may apply.

To apply please email asel.kadyrbaeva@easpd.eu before May 31, 2018, 18.00 CET and enclose the CV of the proposed staff member and a cover letter (max. 1 page) explaining why they would like to participate in the training and how this could help them in their work.

Improving the Skills & Competencies in Self-Directed Support (SKILLS) is a 24-month Erasmus+ project that aims to enable the full citizenship of persons with disabilities by improving skills and competencies of different stakeholders in self-directed support. The project addresses the need to explore and define what systems of self-directed support are in place in Europe and how they can best support individuals with disabilities in exercising choice about their lives.
