The Declaration on Planning Inclusive Communities is ready!

We are glad to announce that the Planning Inclusive Communities Conference Declaration is now ready and available!

In the end of March 2014, EASPD, the Centre for Planning and Evaluation of Social Services (ZPE) of the University of Siegen together with a number of international partners, held the conference ‘Planning Inclusive Communities’. We welcomed nearly 500 delegates from about 30 countries.

The conference focused on the implementation of the UNCRPD in municipalities, local communities and entities, and the role of the different stakeholders in this process. All presentations and videos from the plenary interventions are now available on the conference website and we invite you to see them here!

Following the outcomes and recommendation of the event, as well as the provided feedback collected from the delegates after its end, we developed the Conference Declaration on Planning Inclusive Communities. The document presents the significance of the various stakeholders at local and municipal level for the correct implementation of the UN CRPD and provides concrete recommendations to decision-makers at European, national and local levels.

EASPD encourages all our members to make a useful and meaningful translation of the declaration, as our German colleagues did, so they can actively use it in their lobby work at national and local level!
