Conference rationale

The European Association of Service providers for Persons with Disabilities (EASPD) in cooperation with the Foundation Petrović Njegoš and the Centre de la Gabrielle is organising an international conference in Podgorica (Montenegro) on the 26-27 October 2017 on Supportive communities and sustainable development.

  • How can communities provide support meeting sustainable development goals?
  • How can support be provided to persons with different needs in a context of changing communities and changing needs?
  • How can sustainable development fully incorporate individual and societal needs?
  • What is the role of the UN Sustainable Development Goals in promoting the development of supportive communities?

The conference will answer these and other questions, focusing on the changes required in support services to embrace and implement the human rights approach, looking at the connection between the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
 

Conference objectives

The overall objectives of the conference are:

  • Understand the issues related to the provision of integrated care and community-based planning
  • Learn how to apply concepts of sustainable development in community-based planning
  • Identify the priorities in the reform of legal and financial frameworks
  • Showcase models of integrated care and sustainable development
  • Address the issues of stakeholder cooperation in sustainable development.

27 - 28 October 2017 – EASPD General Assembly

(FOR EASPD MEMBERS ONLY)

When: 27 October 2017 from 14.30 to 17.30 and 28 October 2017 from 9.30 to 13.00

The EASPD General Assembly will focus on the EASPD Strategy to be implemented between 2017 and 2020. The EASPD Policy Impact Group, Standing Committees and Interest Groups meetings will be organised during the General Assembly. The pre-final EASPD Strategy will be adopted during this event.

  • Non-EASPD members: 220 Euro

 

  • Non-EASPD members from Albania, Armenia, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey and Ukraine: 70 Euro

The conference fee covers participation to all conference plenaries and workshops and includes all conference refreshments.


 

Fee to participate only in EASPD project development workshop

20 Euro for EASPD members and non-EASPD members from Albania, Armenia, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey and Ukraine.

50 Euro for non-EASPD members

EASPD will send an invoice to the registered participants. The registration will be considered complete upon payment of the conference fee

The deadline for registration to the conference is the 13 October 2017.

 

HOTEL RESERVATIONS

Hotel Hilton Podgorica (where the conference will be held) is fully booked.

Other hotels close to the conference venue are Hotel Hemera; Hotel Eminent; Hotel Podgorica. Please note that we cannot guarantee accessibility or availability of the fromer hotels.
